Brazil is sometimes 3 hours ahead of ET and 6 hours ahead of PT). At other times of the year it is 1 hour ahead of ET and 4 hours ahead of PT. I hear you asking, “Why is that?”. It is because since they are in the southern hemisphere, their seasons are the opposite of ours. Our winter is their summer. That means that we do daylight savings in the opposite direction: when we loose and hour, they gain an hour. Confused? The easy solution, is to go to the World Clock at http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ and look at your home area and either Brasilia or Rio de Janeiro.
